Writing today’s soul-spark presented our team with an unusual dilemma. Should we write on Love — that sweetest experience which is no longer just a pillar of SRM, but the very essence that holds our organization together? Or should we write an ode worshipping Shiva, the Creator to whom we owe our existence, on the upcoming sacred occasion of Mahashivratri?
We quickly realized the trap we were falling into — the same trap that has caught the world. We have separated love from worship, leading to a world where people visit temples and mosques for “worship” while desperately seeking “love” everywhere else.
Worship is the beginning of Love, and Love is the peak of worship.
Worship is adoring someone pure, and Love is the purest form of worship.
Worship is revering Shiva as the Creator, and Love is seeing nothing but Shiva in the creation.
If you cannot love the one you worship, or worship the one you love, it is time for some self-reflection. Today, we solve the dilemma by dismissing it entirely, and dedicating this soul-spark to the One who embodies both Love and Shiva perfectly — the One who releases worship from religious prisons and makes it as natural as breathing; the One who clears the worldly dust from Love and turns every devotee into a lover; the One whom we worship as our Guru, and love as our Beloved.
