Mountain climbing is hard, even when ignoring the weather, terrain, and other non-trivial obstacles. The biggest challenge is the air itself: it grows thinner and increasingly lacking in oxygen at higher altitudes.
But the deadliest mountain in the world – the mountain of devotion – makes this challenge even more daunting. The higher you climb, the less is the “oxygen” your familiar self thrives on: the ego. Used to the dense, lower altitudes of existence saturated with self-centered thoughts, you begin to suffocate at these spiritual heights – as if whatever made you ‘you’ is dying.
This is the only climb in the world with a zero percent chance of survival. Death is guaranteed. And beyond this death, there is no life, only a return to the womb of all life.
