‘आत्मज्ञान’ (Enlightenment) यानि गुणों के अनंत विकास और विस्तार की सम्भावना। यह कोई स्थिर गंतव्य नहीं, किन्तु निरंतर रूपांतरण की यात्रा है। ऐसे में ‘त्याग और वैराग्य’ (renunciation and dispassion) वे परम साधन हैं जो साधक की पात्रता का पोषण कर उसे मार्ग पर केंद्रित रखते हैं। त्याग और वैराग्य के स्थूल अर्थ से हम सभी परिचित हैं, किन्तु इनका वास्तविक आशय तो एक सद्गुरु के बोध से प्राप्त होता है।
After cautioning about the futility of Jadd-Kriyavad and Shushk-Gyaan in the previous verses, Shrimadji now propounds the true objective of renunciation and detachment in Gatha 6 and 7. Without the yearning for renunciation and detachment in one’s heart, Self-realisation cannot arrive. Likewise, one who contents himself with renunciation and detachment alone, too remains oblivious from his true nature.
