गुरु मार्गदाता है, मार्ग भी है, और मंजिल भी। सद्गुरु वह उत्तम साधन है जो पात्र मुमुक्षु को मुक्ति की यात्रा के पूर्ण शिखर तक ले जाने में सक्षम है। किन्तु यदि जीव असद्गुरु में अपने मोह की स्थापना कर बैठे, तो वह उसके पतन का निश्चित कारण बनता है।
