December usually ends with the year-end festive cheer in the air. And so does it at SRM, but for a completely different reason. While the world celebrates the arrival of the new, SRM’s Annual Meet celebrates another year of coming closer to the eternally true!
Continuing the ritual this year, seekers from all over the world gathered at the Leela Ambience Convention Centre in Delhi on 26th December. If last year’s Annual Meet was anything to go by, this was expected to be another four days of experiencing love like never before, especially as Sri Guru had declared it to be a “Festival of Love”. Of course, not a single soul was left disappointed.
As customary at SRM, the event commenced with Aastha Anushthaan, a ceremony to invoke divine grace and blessings. With sacred energies permeating the retreat, Love took centre stage.
To truly experience and celebrate love, one must relinquish preconceived notions of worldly love and seek to understand its purest form. Sri Guru emphasized this with a simple statement that was probably the key-takeaway of the entire retreat: “प्रेम सीखना पड़ता है” (Love has to be learnt). While words cannot fully capture love’s true essence, Sri Guru showed glimpses of it through subsequent Satsangs. Through the hidden symbolism behind one of the greatest love story ever told (Radha-Krishna), and the spiritual meanings encoded in Lord Krishna’s stories in Shrimad Bhagwatam, Sri Guru shared 7 Sutras of Love that took our collective beliefs about “love” and shredded them into pieces, replacing them with something infinitely purer and stronger.
Listening to the Sutras of Love is akin to watching the painting of water; it does show what water looks like, but does not quench the eternal thirst within! Very well aware of this fact, Sri Guru was prepared with an extremely special gift – a new version of SwaRaj Kriya. While SwaRaj Kriya has undergone several updates since its inception in 2015, this iteration feels the most mystical yet, a powerful tool that has opened new doors to experience the pinnacle of spiritual love. The sacred journey to the summit was flagged off, as seekers were blessed to practice the new SwaRaj Kriya in Sri Guru’s live presence!
It was not just love that was being redefined. As part of SRM’s ‘Sanskaar’ initiative, a dedicated Seva team facilitated sessions for children under 15, aimed at teaching them about various emotions and the art of mastering them. A screening of the Oscar-winning animated movie ‘Inside Out’ set the ball rolling for interactive learning and fun activities, helping children understand the nuances of their emotional spectrum.
A key attraction of each Annual Meet is the launch of new products designed to empower seekers on their journey. This year’s launches included two new books: ‘Jeevan Sutra,’ featuring aphorisms by Shrimadji for an ideal life, and ‘Soul Spark,’ a collection of inspiring thoughts, stories, and poems that offer practical wisdom from everyday experiences. Dedicated sessions were conducted to guide seekers on how to effectively read and contemplate these short and insightful writings.
Evenings at the Annual Meet are reserved for celebrations. This year was no exception, with each evening painting the seekers’ hearts in different hues of love. From Bhakti team’s soulful presentations, to a beautiful skit portraying the divine Love between Radha, Gopis and Krishna, to seekers showcasing their creativity through musical performances and poetry, love served as the thread that tied these acts together, and lit up the retreat with many new lights of Love!
The highlight of the celebrations were the most anticipated and coveted SRM awards, recognizing seekers for their exceptional spiritual growth. As Gautam Prabhu enthusiastically shared each recipient’s inspiring journey of transformation, the entire gathering was filled with a renewed sense of motivation to accelerate their own spiritual progress.
The session that will remain etched in most seekers’ hearts for a long time to come was the final Satsang of the retreat. Though the session lasted for 2 hours, it felt as if time stood still, as Sri Guru shared mystical secrets of Prem Samadhi, the state from which her love flows effortlessly. “Love will find a way” is a timeless adage used to emphasise the power of true Love. SRM is blessed that seekers who attended this retreat can now declare, “Love has found a way!” And wow, what a beautiful way it is proving to be!
