Ten days. Two batches. Countless experiences.
These ten days of Nivrutti at our Home vanished like ten seconds, yet gifted us moments worth more than ten lifetimes.
‘Nivrutti’ is a word we hear frequently; we think we know its meaning. But comparing our conceptual idea of Nivrutti with its actual depth is like comparing sour grapes to the sweetest mangoes. At these retreats with Sri Guru, the true dimensions of this sacred word are finally unfolding. These dimensions were lived wholeheartedly by the seekers blessed for the Ashram stays in Uttarakhand, held in two batches from 26th April to 6th May.
There is a reason that light travels faster than sound – words can never truly catch up with the breathtaking speed at which direct experience illuminates the darkest corners of the mind and heart. Unfortunately, words are all we have to share with you. But this time, we won’t spend them on describing what transpired during these days, but rather what transformed in the hearts of those who lived them.
We begin this series with a seeker who is usually found ‘running’ to serve others, but who discovered in the Himalayas the sublime beauty of pausing to simply be.
Away from the hustle and bustle of city life, we got an opportunity not just to observe our lives, but to truly live them – almost at 0.5x speed instead of 2x – bringing us a deep sense of fulfilment.
As we stepped into the Ashram, our eyes were fixated on the serene beauty of the Himalayas peeking through the clouds, while the profound silence of the surroundings engulfed our chattering minds in deep stillness.
The Ashram living experience has been designed by Sri Guru to help us feel the rhythm of the heart and listen to the song of the soul. The three-hour morning sessions of Yog and Dhyan helped us release energetic blocks and took us into deep sadhana experiences. The Samagams with Sri Guru made us reflect deeply on Vachnamrut Ji and Bhaktis through a workbook, allowing us to imbibe the learnings for practical application in life and let go of long-held equations. In one of the Samagams, Sri Guru guided us to reflect deeper and deeper on Raag-Dwesh, where it was no longer just a concept, but became a way of living for our next leap of inner transformation. Wow!
The Bhaktis, the heart-to-heart talks, and the everyday Garba on ‘Apoorva Avsar’ under the starlit sky filled our hearts with immense joy. Each of us could shed our masks and connect with our true selves, unfolding realms of love like never before.
It was truly an experience of lifetimes, as we now understand how the rope of karmas accumulated over lifetimes can be made powerless. Thank you Sri Guru!

Or so we think, until Grace shows us a reality that dissolves the line entirely. This revelation was experienced by Mohit Jain Prabhu, a software engineer who stepped away from the virtual world of programming to taste the raw ‘jaggery’ of reality at the Ashram Retreat in April. Here is...

I wish to attend such a retreat in the blissful presence of Sri Guru at the Uttarakhand Ashram, amidst the sublime beauty of the Himalayas, to experience inner stillness while strengthening my resolve to keep introspecting and growing in God’s love.
