A Sadguru is not merely a person – they are the Beloved’s promise to reach the human heart. Whenever a Sadguru walks this earth, they exist only to fulfil this divine promise through boundless love, compassion, and wisdom.
Yet, three distances have always stood between our hearts and the fulfilment of this promise.
The distance of space. Imagine the misfortune of living in the West while Lord Buddha walked and blessed the lands of the East.
The distance of time. Imagine the tragedy of being born the day after Lord Krishna chose to return to His supreme abode.
The distance of surrender. This one cannot be blamed on fate or misfortune. This is the distance we create ourselves – holding tightly to heaps of ignorance, endless attachments, and a tireless ego.
Fate may have separated us in the past. But the distance of surrender has kept our hearts numb to grace, even when a Sadguru has stood right in front of us.
This time, let us pledge not to let this distance remain.
This time, let us pledge not to let anything stand between us and the Beloved’s most loving promise.
This time, let us pledge to surrender.
For there is no greater expression of gratitude, than total surrender.
