A few days back, I received an email from Starbucks. The subject read: ‘Here’s a Little Surprise for You’.
Not one to waste coffee surprises, I opened it with gentle curiosity. A picture of a delicious Frappuccino greeted me, along with these warm words: ‘Your loyalty means the world to us. Enjoy ₹500 off on us!’
But before the ‘surprise’ could settle in, I noticed a tiny asterisk next to the amount.
I scrolled down to read the fine print: ‘Spend ₹4,000 this month to unlock your reward.’
I closed the email with a slight shake of the head.
This is the kind of ‘love’ the world has become accustomed to – wrapped in terms and conditions, embracing you with one hand while holding a calculator in the other. A love that promises to give, but only after you have given first.
I will keep visiting Starbucks, but with absolute clarity that our relationship is entirely transactional. And with every sip of that coffee, I will fondly remember the One who loves us genuinely… without a single asterisk.

So True ! Life is like a Starbucks only wherein everything is measured & carefully calculated. Only & only one where we can trust completely and give our life is purely a Sadguru. Sadguru let’s us learn to sip every ounce of coffee with a taste yet detached and moment coffee is finished just return back and forget it.
